Rise of Security
Security here in the United States has been on the rise for many years. This promoted Chandler Monitoring Systems to put a great deal of thought in alternative solutions for consideration to a large audience.
Mission
- Integrate advanced optical sensing and surveillance technologies to form the most effective monitoring network
- Integrate optical sensing and broadband communication (e.g., fiber-optic, wireless) infrastructure to form “smart” monitoring network
- Develop innovative optical surveillance network architecture
Advantages of Using Fiber Optics
- Invisible
- Undetectable
- No eavesdropping
- Environmentally Immune
- Immune to EMI & Radio Interference
- Expandable to add Features with out more Infrastructure
- Programmable Parameters
- Eliminates False Alarms
- Real Time Detection
Duke University
To provide the concept a project was awarded to Chandler Monitoring Systems with great success with Duke University. This system was installed in new construction for the Pratt Engineering Building on campus. Although this system accomplished many features including expansion joint monitoring, and structural integrity we also provided point detection capability using Optical Bragg Gratings embedded in the floor.
Home Land Security
Chandler Monitoring Systems presented to SPAWAR with 90 Homeland Security decision makers grouped by military branch and then technical staff. During this meeting we where approached by General Dynamics, Vista scape and many other security providers looking at this new concept with a full demonstration. Following this meeting other interest occurred with URS Homeland Security Division consulting firm with an invitation to inspect the possibilities of security monitoring of major bridges here in the United States. Chandler Monitoring invites you to review this section on our web site.
